Instructor: Violet Wilson
Violet Wilson is the "V" in V & R Management. Violet is Oregon licensed and works as a property manager. Violet holds a Bachelor of Arts in Science from San Jose State University and a Masters of Science in Education from Western Oregon University. She was a high school teacher for over 36 years in California and Oregon schools. V & R Management, LLC has operated since 1990, specializing in single family home rentals but they have managed all types of properties.
Recently elected at the Oregon Rental Housing President, Violet is a past vice president of Oregon Rental Housing Association, former chair of the ORHA Education Committee, and serves on the ORHA Legislative Action Committee. Since 2008, she has taught property management classes for local and the state housing provider associations. In addition, she has volunteered to teach classes to help tenants become better residents.

Recent changes in landlord/tenant law can make property management more challenging than ever. This important seminar is designed to help landlords, housing providers, and property managers stay informed about the most current updates in Oregon rental housing law.
Participants will review essential landlord/tenant laws, with a special focus on recent changes that may impact day-to-day property management practices.

- Identify recent changes in Oregon landlord/tenant law and understand how these updates may affect rental owners, housing providers, and property managers in their daily operations.
- Understand the importance of staying current with rental housing laws in order to reduce the risk of mistakes, legal disputes, financial penalties, and potential losses in court.
- Review key responsibilities under Oregon landlord/tenant law, including compliance requirements that may apply throughout the rental process, from tenancy agreements to notices, communication, and property management practices.
- Recognize how recent law changes may impact common landlord procedures, such as notices, terminations, rent increases, tenant protections, documentation, and other important areas of property management.
- Learn how to apply updated legal information to real-life rental housing situations so participants can make more informed decisions when handling tenant issues, notices, disputes, and compliance concerns.
- Identify common legal mistakes housing providers may make and understand how those mistakes can lead to delays, tenant challenges, court complications, or financial loss.

Cancellations/Changes and Refunds: Registration fees are non-refundable for non-attendance, late arrivals, and early departures. Fees will be refunded if cancellation or change resulting in a refund is received in writing no later than 1 week before the workshop date. After that date, fees are non-refundable.
